Annual cover limit

What is an annual cover limit?

This is the maximum amount we’ll contribute towards your pet’s care per year. When choosing a cover limit, make sure it’s enough to cover the treatments your pet might need.

Benefit percentage

What is a benefit percentage?

This is the portion of your vet bill your insurer will cover for an approved claim. With us, you can choose the percentage that works best for you. For example, if you pick a benefit percentage of 80%, we’ll cover 80% of the bill and you’ll pay the remaining 20%.

Annual excess

What is an annual excess?

This is the amount you agree to pay towards your claims each year, before we step in to cover the rest. With us, you only pay one annual excess, not one for every claim, so it’s easier to focus on your pet’s care.

Consultations

What do you mean by ‘consultations’?

This refers to your vet’s consultation fees. You can choose whether you’d like these fees to be covered, so you’re only paying for what matters to you and your pet.

Enjoy even greater peace of mind

Boost your dog’s cover with a range of optional extras.

Helps to cover issues that affect teeth, gums, and periodontal tissue, such as gingivitis, tartar and plaque, periodontal disease, gingival (gum) and other dental conditions.

Provides access to therapies like acupuncture, hydrotherapy, and therapeutic massage to help your pet recover from covered conditions.

Covers unusual or excessive behaviours, like overeating, chewing or licking, pulling out fur, pacing, anxiety, aggression, or obsessive habits.

Covers an annual health check, routine vaccinations, and microchipping if needed.

We don’t do sub-limits

With us, there are no extra limits for certain conditions. Simply claim up to your annual limit!

Frequently asked questions

The best pet insurance policy is the one that speaks directly to you and your dog’s needs. Always consider things like your annual cover limit, benefit percentage, excess, and any extra cover that’s available. Here at RSPCA Pet Insurance, we allow you to customise these key features to suit your cover needs and budget.

To determine whether your dog qualifies for our cover, there are a few things we consider, like their age, breed, and overall health. Unfortunately, we don’t cover exotic pets, pets used for commercial work or sporting activities, or certain breeds classified as banned or dangerous. If you’re unsure whether your dog qualifies, reach out to our team. We’re happy to help provide some clarity.

We love all pets, but we currently only provide cover for cats and dogs. Unfortunately, we don’t cover breeds that are classified as banned, restricted, or dangerous. If you’re unsure whether your furry friend’s breed is covered, don’t worry, our customer care team is just a call away and happy to help.

Definitely! If you insure more than one pet, you’ll enjoy a 10% discount on all subsequent pets, helping you keep all your pets protected without stretching your budget.
